What is a standard solid rod?
A solid rod is a fully solid-section aluminium extrusion with no hollow core. It offers much higher strength than pipe profiles. Preferred for shaft, axle, connection and structural support applications.
How to choose the right solid rod diameter
Diameter is selected according to the load to be carried. Thin diameters (6–10mm) are used for light shaft and pin applications; thick diameters (50–120mm) are used for heavy-load shaft and axle applications. A solid section is significantly heavier and stronger than a pipe profile of the same diameter.
